The Procession of Witness Stations of the Cross walk from Avenue Parade to the top of The Coppice in Accrington took place on Good Friday morning.

This inter-denominational prayer event involves pupil readers from Mount Carmel and St. Christopher’s, the two faith High Schools in the town. Prayers and short readings were read at each of the 14 stations of the cross along the path to the summit of the Coppice in Accrington.

Around 150 people attended this event with Fr. Francis Wadsworth from St. Anne's and St. Joseph's Parishes and Fr. David Arnold from St. Mary Magdalen Church who began and ended the service with prayers. At the summit all the pupil readers gathered together around the cross for the final reading and hymn.
