This week, our school community gathered for our Celebrations of the Word to mark the beginning of Lent. Led by Mr Davies, Mrs Clayton and our dedicated Chaplaincy Team, these moments of prayer provided a calm and reflective start to this important liturgical season.
Mr Davies proclaimed the Gospel from the First Sunday of Lent and invited us to consider the value of retreat and quiet prayer. In the busyness of daily life, Lent calls us to step back, create space for reflection, and grow closer to God. His message encouraged us to see prayer not simply as words, but as an opportunity to listen and to renew our sense of purpose.
The celebrations were beautifully enhanced by the school choir, led by Miss Javaid and Mr Smithson. Their heartfelt performances of Blinded by Your Grace and Stand by Me brought a powerful reminder that God offers us the free gift of love and salvation. We are called to become the very best versions of ourselves, rooted in faith and compassion. We were also reminded that God remains steadfast beside us, especially in times of suffering and challenge.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a reverent and uplifting start to our Lenten journey. May this season be one of reflection, growth and hope for our whole school community.
