Friday 7th November is going to be a non-uniform day for pupils and staff at Mount Carmel.
Please read this important and very personal statement why we have decided to hold this day.
One of our Year 9 pupils Cailub is currently being treated at Manchester Children’s Hospital due to serious heart failure. He has been in hospital since the beginning of September and is now on the waiting list for a heart transplant.
Understandably, this is a deeply worrying and uncertain time for Cailub and his family. His mum has been staying in the Ronald McDonald accommodation near the hospital so she can be close to him, and she has taken leave from work to support her son through this incredibly difficult journey.
Cailub is a much-loved member of our school community, and his friends have come forward with a lovely suggestion to support him and his family. As a school, we are holding a non-uniform day on Friday 7 November, where pupils can wear their own clothes and donate £1 (or more if they wish).
You will be able to pay your childs £1 on their scopay account or bring £1 cash into school on Friday. All proceeds will go directly to Cailub’s family to help support them during this time.
We know how generous and caring our school community is, and we hope you’ll join us in showing solidarity and support for Cailub and his family. Your contributions, both financial and emotional, will mean so much to them.
Thank you ❤️
