Congratulations to Mount Carmel pupils Olly V. and Sophia M. who both competed in the Jitsuka Open in Wales at the weekend and came away with 2 medals each.

Year 8 pupil Sophia won a Gold medal in her age category for Newaza (Brazilian) Ju-Jitsu and a Bronze medal for Sports Ju-Jitsu.

Olly who is in Year 10 won a silver medal in his age category for Sports Ju-Jitsu and another silver medal for Newaza (Brazilian) Ju-Jitsu.

They both train at Kuon Ji in Oswaldtwistle and hope to compete in the national championships which will be held in Belgium in January.
