Kuon Ji Ju-Jitsu Association in Oswaldtwistle sent a team of martial arts club members to Llanelli in South Wales to take part in the Welsh Ju-Jitsu Nationals. Amongst the 200 competitors at the event were a few Mount Carmel pupils who were part of a team of 14 from Kuon Ji.

Year 7 Sophia M. who is part of the GB National Youth team won 2 gold medals taking her medal count to 6 Gold, 8 Silver and 2 bronze medals. Sophia is currently the UK and Welsh champion. 

Theo Vallentin (ex-Mount Carmel pupil) who is also part of the GB Youth team won 2 gold medals.

Year 8 pupils Alice H. and Gabriella H. both won 2 silver medals. Olivia A, Year 7 pupil won one silver and 2 bronze medals in her debut event and Year 9 pupil Olly V. won 1 silver medal.
